2nd National Symposium on Sustainable Plantation Management was held on 12th February 2021 which is being held biannually, organized by National Institute of Plantation Management.1st symposium was held in 2018 as a concept and under the direction of Dr. Prasad Dharmasena, Director / CEO of NIPM.
A set of genuine research assessments which includes 24 papers were presented at the Symposium. NIPM intends to produce a well-defined policy document to Hon. Ministers in order to take some imperative policy decisions positively on the industry towards sustainable development of foreign exchange in an advantageous formula.
Hon. Dr. Ramesh Pathirana, the Minister of Plantations, Hon Kanaka Herath, the State Minister of Tea, Rubber and Estates Reforms were Chief Guest and Guest of Honor, at historical event of multifaceted structure, accordingly. The Secretary, Mr. Ravindra Hewavitharana and State Secretary also participated in the event, Dr. Upali Sedare delivered the keynote speech.
Mr. Robert Jukham, Resident Representative of UNDP and Prof. Tzong Ru Lee too, actively contributed for the symposium 2021. Mr. Asoka Siriwardena – Chaiman and Dr. Prasad Dharmasena, Director/ CEO of National Institute of Plantations Management, other guests from RPCs, Ministries, institutes, Universities, Companies etc., were key figures who patronized this prestigious & precious symposium 2021.
