The IAAS Agribusiness Mission Trip to Sweden in September 2025 brought together industry leaders, researchers, and entrepreneurs to explore cutting-edge developments in circular economy, carbon capture, and sustainable agri-food systems. Hosted across Uppsala and Stockholm, the programme combined high-level knowledge exchange, company visits, and strategic networking opportunities.
The mission provided IAAS members with first-hand exposure to Sweden’s innovation ecosystem—highlighting how science, policy, and entrepreneurship converge to drive sustainability in agriculture and food systems.

IAIC Conference: Carbon Capture & Circular Economy – Accelerating Sustainability through Entrepreneurship
The conference opened with a series of expert-led sessions focusing on circular bioeconomy, policy frameworks, and business innovation.

Uppsala, Sweden – 8 September 2025: The IAAS Agribusiness Mission Trip to Sweden 2025 brought together industry leaders, researchers, and entrepreneurs to explore circular economy, carbon capture, and sustainable agri-food innovation.
The mission opened at the Swedish University of Agricultural Sciences (SLU), Uppsala, with the IAIC Conference themed Carbon Capture & Circular Economy – Accelerating Sustainability through Entrepreneurship.

The day concluded with networking sessions, fostering collaboration among delegates, researchers, and industry stakeholders.
Day 2: Innovation and Enterprise Site Visits
On 9 September 2025, delegates travelled from Uppsala to Stockholm for curated field visits across Sweden’s innovation ecosystem.
- Site Visit 1: Green Innovation Park, Uppsala, featuring SLU Holding AB, Scilins AB, Agteria AB, and Airis Garden AB.
- Site Visit 2: Deliplant, Uppsala, a Swedish food tech company focused on plant-based protein innovation.
- Site Visit 3: Epicenter, Stockholm, a digital innovation hub connecting startups and corporates.
Day 3: Pitch, Networking and Sustainability Site Visit
On 10 September 2025, the delegation participated in a pitch and networking session organised by Business Sweden, followed by a site visit to Torsåker Gård, an innovation hub for sustainable food systems.
- Swedish company pitch sessions included Deliplant, Ecobloom, Cassius, Swegreen, Ironic AB, Scilins, NitroCapt, Proteininnovation, and Grale.
- Additional presentations included AgroClimate, UseNexus, and ComCrop.
- The visit to Torsåker Gård showcased regenerative agriculture practices, circular farming models, and food innovation.
The Sweden 2025 mission demonstrated how collaboration between academia, industry, and government can accelerate innovation in sustainable agriculture and food systems.
