YUAN-TAY SHYU

Director of Food Safety Center, National Taiwan University

Prof. Yuan-Tay Shyu, born in 1959, is an accomplished academic and researcher known for his extensive contributions to biological resources and agriculture. He graduated from the Department of Horticulture at Taiwan University and earned a Ph.D. in Food Science from North Carolina State University, USA. He also participated in a valuable visiting scholar program at the University of California, Davis, USA.

Prof. Shyu has held various prestigious roles, including Director of the Food Safety Centre, the Biodiversity Research Center, and Dean of the College of BioResources and Agriculture at the National Taiwan University. He has also served as President of the Chinese Society for Agricultural Science, the Agricultural Association of Taiwan, The Society for Wildlife and Nature (SWAN) International, the Taipei Bio-Industry Association, etc.

In his commitment to fostering collaboration between academia and industry, Prof. Shyu has also served as a board member and co-director of the NTU Innovation & Incubation Center.
