Abstract

Agriculture is the oldest industry in mankind. There are numerous ways of implementations and are still evolving along with the development of new technologies. This paper addresses a macro view on agriculture implementations from a supply chain vision. A supply chain has been widely used as a paradigm in many industries, and is applied to agriculture in this paper. To effectively manage the implementations of agriculture supply chain, a cloud platform is also introduced. The structure, functions and deployment of the platform will be described. In addition, a supply chain is usually thought of as a commercial or social organization; its goals are usually commerce or social oriented. This paper tries to redirect the conventional goals to sustainable development goals, as addressed by the United Nations. The future development of the cloud platform will be given as a conclusion.
